Geography

Geography is studied by all pupils during years 7, 8 and 9 and is also a popular GCSE choice during Key Stage 4
Geography is no longer simply the study of capital cities and countries it encompasses the entire world and the people that live on it!

Key stage 3
During key stage 3 we study areas such as:
- Settlement
- Tectonics
- Globalisation
- The weather
- Maps
- Crime
- Tourism
These areas look at the how’s why’s and what’s of the entire world not simply the where’s!
Key stage 4Geography at Key stage 4 is very popular and we have record numbers of students wanting to sign up to the two year course. A GCSE in Geography could help you gain employment in areas such as:
Mining (natural resources and precious stones and metals such as diamonds in Africa)!Oil exploration (working on an oil rig in the Pacific Ocean for example)
Town planning (designing a new town or re-generating an old one)
The Royal Engineers (a division of the Army that are involved in geographical mapping)
And of course.......Teaching.
REMEMBER:
Geography is not just about the world........IT IS THE WORLD!
