The E Diary: A Virtual Learning Enviroment also known as Fronter

Fronter are a Norwegian based company who have been developing and using their VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) within schools in Scandinavia for many years. In fact the use of these VLE's is very heavily integrated into school life there, and in other countries like Australia.

VLE's are now being introduced across the UK. It is the goverments desire that all students should have access to a VLE. The great thing about a VLE is that if a student has access to the internet they also have access to their VLE and can therefore enter at any time, in any place.

Once inside a VLE a student should find a wide range of learning resources and materials including notice boards and forums. There is also a calendar diary.

If a homework task requires resources and/or materials, they will be available through the E Diary.
Additionally a check can be kept on homework set, deadline dates and completion.
