Welcome from the Headteacher
I am happy and proud to work in a school which is so clearly moving forward.
The spirit of a place is its measure, and Portchester always goes that extra mile to make sure that all of its students excel.
The recent OFSTED Inspection warmly praised the school for all the work it had done since the last inspection in June 2007. Inspectors commended the rate of students' progress which was twice the national average.
Our results for 2009 for 5 + GCSEs at A* to C at 60% were the highest in the history of the school.
It is especially pleasing that our contextual value added score for 2009 is the highest in Bournemouth. Significantly above that of all other schools, including the grammar schools. This score shows the impact that a school makes in ensuring that every student makes the best possible progress and achieves their full potential in secondary school.
The school is continuing to move forward on its journey of improvement - we look forward to working in partnership with you in order to achieve even greater things!
